REAGAN DELANEY (28) gets captured during a mission as a Revolutionary. He was the first skater out of two in a skating team infiltrating the International Skating Championship. To kill the people at the top when getting the win and celebrating with them in the Master League, the highest league. With him gone, a space needs to be filled, and the new season of all the leagues are soon to begin.

KRYSTAL FEVERELL (20) falls back into an underground skating ring within her home city of New York, after her jobs refuses to give her any shifts. She needs the money asap, as the clock ticks down on her mother’s comatose machine. When the time hits zero, the machine turns off and it would kill her. There she unfortunately reunites with her ex, NASH DAXER (21), another skater but one who has stuck with the underground skating ring. After the race, wherein Krystal wins, the police raid the arena. Krystal manages to get away, however she is without her winnings she needs. She is followed by a Revolutionary named SIGRID DE SNAIJER (25) and the two meet at her apartment. With no other way to earn the required money, Krystal reluctantly accepts Sigrid’s hand into the Revolutionaries test. At the base, she meets HUGH MCRORY (47) the head of the Revolutionaries and of RorSpeed Skating, one of the teams in the Entry League of the International Skating Championship. RorSpeed is soon to be declared bankrupt, due to their poor performance costing them plenty of resources.. In the test, despite nearly being killed by another skater, she manages to win the test race, thus earning her a spot beside Sigrid as a skater for Rorspeed. This comes as a shock to Krystal because information on the winner’s ‘prize’ was omitted. Krystal argues she has more of a chance to live and keeping her mother alive acting outside the tournament. Hugh explains that the money he’ll give her will be far more sustainable to protect her mother’s life if she skates alongside Sigrid. Hugh adds that when she is away, one of the Revolutionaries will pay the money into her mother’s comatose machine to keep her alive. Krystal gives in. They stay in NYC for the first race of the season.

Krystal unfortunately reunites with Nash, who has been entered under a team unaffiliated with the Revolutionaries. The press sees their spat and portray the two as this season’s biggest rivals. The Ice Shard versus the Speed Smoke. Nash exacts a bit of revenge in the next race, cutting off her finger, making her unable to take the upcoming corner. From first to a DNF, Krystal goes. Krystal’s confidence wanes fast. It makes her enquire what exactly happened to Sigrid’s former teammate. Sigrid delves into the fact he went missing on a mission to destroy a factory that creates the nuclear batteries for the skates they use for the Championship. She explains due to that; she’s been made by Hugh to exclusively focus on the races and simply rest/train in between them. Sigrid lets slip her emotions regarding Reagan too much than what she would’ve liked to with some saying he’s a traitor. Krystal doesn’t comfort her but shows she cares for her, as she was betrayed by Nash, a person she loved before. With Sigrid’s help, Krystal learns to take corners again without her finger for the upcoming race. Their joint effort pays off, with Krystal bouncing back to just outside the top three. Although, Nash does win this one.

Hugh grows suspicions on whether Sigrid is sneaking out to try to find Reagan, ignoring his demands. Hugh interrogates Krystal and she states all what she knows but that’s no clear answer. Hugh warns Sigrid but she denies what he’s accusing her of. It gets to the final race of the season, Sigrid, despite her exploits outside of the races, is second in the championship for the Entry League. Krystal stops Nash from overtaking Sigrid in a brutal skating fight, which ends with his throat being slit by Krystal’s arm blade. Sigrid wins the championship. If Nash were still alive, he would be second. Krystal now replaces his placement. However, Sigrid is captured in another one of her exploits after the championship. She is publicly executed for ‘domestic terrorism’. A warning to Krystal not to let your emotions take complete control of your actions.
